Urban soundscape map can serve to raise people’s awareness about their location environment and allows them to make informed decisions about the potentially hazardous effects of noise on their hearing and well-being.
How does it work?
External calibrated microphones connected to smart devices record sounds around from urban dwellers walked through various environments where the data collected from wearable’s in order to map out indices of potential locations of unwanted sounds (noise) and quiet spaces.
What does Urban soundscape map include?
A colourful guide maps to the roads and paths show locations with high and low noise level values within the city evaluating the qualitative perspective of environmental noise.
